Forster Coaches extends service to Green Point
Forster Coaches today announces that they have successfully applied for partial funding from the Ministry of Transport to operate a three month trial of extended weekday services to Green Point.  Forster Coaches will match the Ministry’s funding in order to see if a viable service can be sustained past the 3 month trial period.

Along with existing services a bus will depart Green Point Bus Shelter at 9:25am and 10:25am and will travel to Forster Keys, Stocklands, Cape Hawke Hospital and Forster Main Street.  Return services will depart at 1.00pm and 4.00pm from Forster Main Street via the hospital, Stocklands, Keys and on to Green Point.

“This addition funding and the commitment of Forster Coaches to provide a service to Green Point residents, is a huge win for the community”  Brenton Deane, Managing Director of Forster Coaches said.  “We have listened to the people of Green Point and with the help of the Ministry of Transport we can now trial the service that they have been asking for.  It is now up to the residents of Green Point to support the service as we need regular passenger numbers to make sure the service will be viable to run past the 3 month trial period.  Should the service prove successful we will permanently write the service into our timetable early in 2008.”

Fares for the service will be $7.40 adult and $3.70 pension & concession which are the Ministry’s gazetted fare.

The service will commence on November 26th.

In the past 2 years alone Forster Coaches has invested over $3 million in upgrading buses and coaches, bus stop signs, route and school timetables and website in order to provide the residents of the Great Lakes a modern, clean and reliable transport network.
